About Landmark Leather
I started this adventure while searching for something to do in the long, dark, cold winters in Reno, NV...
Although I live within an hour of some of the world's most amazing skiing at Lake Tahoe, It's just not for me.
After about a year of rabbit-holeing on the YouTube, someone gifted me a very basic set of crude leather tools - and off I went.
I'm a Graphic Designer by trade, and had always dreamed of owning a full-size woodshop, to pursue my creative desires as physical, long lasting, well crafted pieces that everyone could enjoy. Alas, as you may have heard, Graphic Design is not a profession that lends itself well to spending thousands of dollars on tools, space, and equipment to build a fully functioning woodshop. My research showed that I could make a ton of leather projects with a small toolkit right on the bar top, and so I did! For the first year, I worked when I had time on top a small bar, with all my tools vanishing at the end of the project into a toolbox - to be stowed for a later date - a simple solution for a a wonderful hobby. However, as I spent more and more time working on Leather goods, those tools stopped being put away a the end of each session, and a bedroom was doomed to leather shop conversion.
5 Years later, my entire workshop fits in a 10' x 11' room and the business has grown to replace some of my graphic design work, and all of my free time (and some of my not-free time). Leathercraft is my passion, and it shows through the products I make. Every wallet I make is guaranteed for life - well, as long as I'm alive - and you will find these pieces to be beautiful, robust, well crafted items that should outlive all of us, if taken care of.
Thanks for Visiting!
